A new addition...
May 30, 2015I have a little confession to make... I know I have been a little quiet on here and there is only one reason why. For my birthday, I got a new sewing machine!!!
...and since then all I have been doing is sewing.
I AM OBSESSED!
So I thought I'd start writing about my sewing too! And Since having my beautiful machine I have made 3 items of clothing with it:
1. Coco Top- Tilly and the Buttons.
With the help of Jane of Jane Makes I found some lovely stripe print Jersey and using Tilly's Coco pattern, constructed this top. It's comfy and fits lovely and I was very pleased with it considering I hadn't touched a sewing machine since my GCSE's 10 years ago!
2. Sleeveless Shell Top- The Great British Sewing Bee Fashion with Fabric.
I was delighted when on my birthday, I unwrapped the most amazing book from Jane. The Great British Sewing Be Fashion with Fabric. It is a fantastic book which came with 30 patterns! And in depth instructions on how to make each one! Thank you Jane! I finished off the hem of this shirt with some Liberty Bias Binding I picked up at Clothkits in Chichester.
3. Delphine Skirt- Tilly and the Buttons- Love at First Stitch.
This skirt is so lovely, and Tilly's book is amaze balls! It's also a step by step book with 5 patterns and tutorials to create your own patterns too!
I made the skirt from navy garbardine and finished it with these cute brass buttons!
I've already started to plan my next project- denim paisley print shorts for my brother! I can't wait!
