Proper Homemade Gluten Free Brownies!
April 09, 2015
Last weekend was Easter weekend and for Miles and I it could only mean one thing... Family, food and more food and as Monday was a bank holiday for us we thought it would be a lovely idea to have a sibling get together at our place! So we invited our sisters over for a marathon day of baking, films and eating!
My sister really wanted to make some brownies so we did... However the recipe I found on the internet didn't have nearly enough chocolate (or calories for that matter) for our liking so we adapted it- and this is what the result was!
You will need:
- 100g Butter
- 150g 70% dark chocolate
- 100g Gluten free plain flour
- 100g Roughly chopped hazelnuts
- 200g Caster sugar
- 3 Free range eggs (cant beat free range!)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 100g White chocolate chips
- 100g Milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
Method:
1. Pre-Heat your oven to 180 c.
2. In a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water melt the butter and the chocolate make sure you keep stirring so that it all melts nice and evenly once it is all melted nicely add in the golden syrup.
3. In a large mixing bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and sugar. Then beat in the eggs, and the melted butter and chocolate.
4. Add your hazelnuts and give the mixture a nice stir to incorporate it all together. Add the chocolate chips and do the same again.
5. Now pour the mixture into a greased, lined baking tray (about 20cm x 25cm) and pop in the oven for 25 minutes.
6. Once the brownies are baked place on a cooling rack to firm up for about 10 minutes before cutting into nice chunks!
7. Enjoy! Mmmmmmm!
